NUNM Academic Building, Room 201
The College of Classical Chinese Medicine at NUNM is pleased to host the Western hemisphere’s only presentation of Professor Manfred Kubny’s seminal work on the Bazi Suanming, “The Calculation of Life According to the Eight Signs”. This highly sophisticated model of Chinese constitutional and medical astrology has very practical implications for clinical practice.
In these workshops, one of the world’s foremost authorities will introduce this traditional Chinese instrument for chrono-biological and chrono-psychological diagnosis. You will learn about the fundamental relationships between the heavenly stems, hidden heavenly stems and earthly branches, providing the foundation for the composition and interpretation of individual “bazi” charts in the Chinese eight pillar system. Bazi Suanming has developed into the central psychological system of Chinese culture. It can be used to add great depth to a psychological or medical assessment.
The Bazi Suanming can be used to support the following:
- Acute and chronic clinical diagnosis
- Individualized lifestyle recommendations
- Optimization of each child’s learning potential
- Personality analysis
- Major life event planning
- Individual and partner counseling
- Crisis management
- Human resource management
Two workbooks are included with your registration, “Chinese Medical Astrology” and “Part Four: The Calendar,” both written and published by Dr. Kubny in 2008 (and updated in 2015).
Bio
Dr. Manfred Kubny is Europe’s premier expert on the esoteric aspects of Chinese life science. He is the director of the International Academy for Traditional Chinese Astrology, and a research fellow at Berlin University’s Horst-Gortz Foundation for the History, Theory and Ethics of Chinese Life Science. A major focus of his research is the diagnosis of the human personality according to the ancient Chinese system of the Bazi Suanming. Among his numerous articles and books on the subject is a 1000-page translation of the Ditiansui Chanwie (A Detailed Explication of the Dripping Essence of Heaven), generally regarded as one of the five classics of Chinese astrology, and Traditional Chinese Astrology, the only major treatise written on this subject in a Western language. Dr. Kubny’s additional areas of expertise include Daoist longevity techniques, the Chinese psychology of space commonly known as Feng Shui (Wind and Water), and the strategic system of Qimen Dunjia (The Mystic Gates and the Hidden Yang-Wood).
