- AboutDr. Emma Petshow is a licensed naturopathic physician completing her second year of residency at NUNM. She graduated from NUNM in 2018 with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. Her clinical interests include primary care, cardiopulmonary medicine, sports medicine, and women’s health. Dr. Petshow’s clinical education focused on providing individualized, evidence-based, primary care to a diverse population of patients using a wide range of treatment modalities. She completed specialty rotations in cardiopulmonary medicine, IV therapy, mental health, transgender health, and women’s health. Additionally, Dr. Petshow completed rotations in the emergency department, a rural health center, and a medical brigade to Nicaragua, following her passion for bringing high-quality primary care and naturopathic medicine to underserved populations. Prior to attending medical school, Dr. Petshow received her Bachelor of Science from Portland State University, where she double-majored in General Science and Health Studies: Health Sciences with an emphasis in pre-medical studies. During this time she competed at the collegiate level in track and field, which led to her passion for sports medicine. Currently she is a volunteer track and field coach for a local Oregon high school and is a Certified Personal Trainer (CPT) through the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM). Dr. Petshow enjoys bringing movement, fitness, and nutrition into the patient visit to help patients establish habits that support their overall health and healing. When not practicing medicine, Dr. Petshow can be found spending time hiking the gorge with her family and friends, pole vaulting with her track and field team, singing soprano in choir, and reading a good book with a cup of coffee.
